Helping Your Child Succeed

Developing Their Personal Path to Greatness Through Jesus Christ

WELCOME!

Thank you for your interest in the Richardson Home School Association Teaching Co-op. We are a Christian organization with teachers who teach from a biblical perspective. Our Co-op depends on the cooperation and participation of parents, students, and teachers.

This page contains information and forms necessary to register for the school year along with an online Class Catalog, with full class descriptions, and class grid. We thank the staff and congregation of Temple Shalom in Dallas for graciously opening their building to our Co-op for the school year.

We ask for the prayers and co-operation of each student, parent, and teacher to make the Co-op a safe and God-honoring place. May the Lord bless each of you.

INTRODUCTION TO THE RHSA TEACHING CO-OP

PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Co-op exists for the primary purpose of enriching the education of our children and to have Christian fellowship with other home school families. The Co-op is not designed to take the place of parental education at home, but to provide enhanced educational opportunities.

HISTORY

The RHSA Teaching Co-op began in 1992.

ADMINISTRATION

A volunteer committee organizes and administers the Co-op.

SCHEDULE

The Co-op offers classes on Tuesdays and some high school classes also meet on Thursdays on a 32-week schedule, September
through May.  You can access and view the classes we offer on our Class Grid located on our home page.  For descriptions of classes and teacher bios, you can access our Class Catalog from our home page.  A calendar for the school year is located in our registration packet.

TEACHER CREDENTIALS

The majority of our teachers hold a degree in the field in which they teach and are mature Christian leaders with years of experience in private and public education.

TEACHER REQUIREMENTS

Teachers must sign a statement of faith in Jesus Christ and must agree to teacher guidelines and responsibilities established by the Co-op.

PARENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Parental participation is necessary and is an important factor in the successful operation of the Co-op. Service hours are required. Please see the Service Hours Contract in the registration packet for more information.

LOCATION & TOURS/VISITORS

Our classes are held at Temple Shalom, 6930 Alpha Road, Dallas, Texas 75240.  Anyone who would like to visit and tour the teaching co-op on a Tuesday or Thursday must have an appointment.  This can be scheduled with the registrar.  Please visit the Contact Us page to schedule a visit or tour.

Registration

To apply to the RHSA Teaching Co-op, please fill out the registration packet located on our home page. Bring it to our new family registration or Open House/Meet the Teacher.  In person registration for new families that cannot attend one of these public events must contact the registrar to make an appointment or obtain the address to mail in paperwork.  Please visit the Contact Us page for the Registrar’s email.

To Drop a Class

Once enrolled in a class, you will need to fill out a drop form and submit it to the registrar to withdraw from a class.  Classes incur tuition until this form is submitted. Drop forms can be obtained at the committee tables or using the Drop Form link on the home page.
